Macromedia Flash MX Production Techniques
The last chapter of this book does offer some excellent optimizing tips

Production Techniques could have been an interesting book that really explores the best ways to optimize your Flash movies for the best performance on the web. That seems to be the main purpose of the book but most of the book glosses on simple ways to create Flash movies that hark back to the Flash 3 days or even earlier to the early days of FutureSplash in some cases.

Flash MX Video
Actually, the title of this book should really be called 'Flash MX Video AND Audio'

Friends of Ed was the first publishing house to come up with a release of Flash video a couple of years ago with the release of Rich Media:Video and Sound in Flash and now has come up with one of the first releases covering the changes in using video in Flash MX with this new book.

Fix it in Post
The industry’s most popular crutch phrase

I didn’t have the best of weekends. It started when a guy decided he would back into my car while he was going through a drive through (what kind of idiot backs up in a drive through?). When I got home, I discovered my Mac had died (I think the motherboard is fried), and to top it all off I got one of the lamest reader response e-mails in my life.
