After Effects 6.0 Tutorial Roundup
A collection of AE6.0 tutorials written over the last couple of weeks

After Effects 6.0 has been shipping for over a week now. Many of you probably have it in hand now and are wondering where you can get the latest tutorials on how to use this fantastic product. Fear not dear reader, we've been busy writing tutorials over the last couple of weeks and present a current summary to you now.

Wildform Wild FX Pro 3
Automated title effects tool for Flash and QuickTime

You're probably familiar with Wildform from the company's Flash tools, including Flix Pro, which was the first standalone utility for vectorizing video and converting QuickTime movies to the .swf format. Now they've released Wild FX Pro, a titling animation suite that moves beyond Flash and into broadcast video, bringing with it the ease of use and variety I've come to expect from Wildform--and at an affordable price to boot.

Aurora IgniterX: Uncompressed? I'm Impressed
$1999 card gives your Mac uncompressed editing capabilities

Aurora's IgniterX is a specialized Mac-based tool that allows you to input S-Video and composite sources into your computer, and once there, lets you edit and add effects to that video in all its uncompressed glory. It does all this in 8-bit or even 10-bit color space. It's a versatile card that lets you work with video using Apple's Final Cut Pro 4 on Mac OS X, with some important features actually functioning in real time. We found it to be powerful, but its uncompressed capabilities are not for everybody, so be sure not to spring for it unless you're sure it can help you. Here's our review.

Adobe After Effects 6.0
Major upgrade worth the wait

When Adobe released After Effects 5.0 some two years ago, it was a major breakthrough in compositing technology – 3D layers, vector painting, speed and workflow improvements were all major advantages to this application. With the near-release of After Effects 6.0, Adobe has done it again by adding and improving upon an already-great animation and compositing package.
